The crew of the 65-foot Grace Marie from Gloucester, Mass., were rescued by another fishing vessel July 8 after their vessel began taking on water around 10 p.m., according to the Coast Guard and local media reports.

The Coast Guard received a mayday radio call from the Grace Marie, and issued its own urgent marine information broadcast asking any vessels in the area to respond. The gillnet vessel Dawn T went to assist, took the seven crew members on board and returned with them to Gloucester.

The Grace Marine, a steel hulled dragger of 79 tons, was built in Rhode Island in 1978 according to Coast Guard and industry vessel registries.
