While it is bittersweet to see her go, we would like to announce the sale of the F/V Bountiful to Shelford Fisheries. This vessel has been a cornerstone in the history and development of Trident Seafoods. Our founder, Chuck Bundrant, initially designed and captained her as a crab catcher/processor, the Bountiful was soon equipped with plate freezers, allowing it to process herring and salmon as well. This transformation was crucial for Trident, enabling us to diversify our product offerings and reducing dependency on a single fishery.

Its mobility as a floating processor provided us with the flexibility to move to different fishing grounds for the various seasonal fisheries, giving Trident a competitive advantage in the dynamic Alaska fishing industry. The success of the Bountiful laid the groundwork for our future expansions and acquisitions, demonstrating the viability of floating processors working in conjunction with our shorebased plants and setting the stage for our continued innovation and growth.

We are confident the Bountiful will serve Shelford Fisheries well. We wish them fair winds, following seas, full pots & a fish on every hook as they embark on this new journey with a vessel that has been an integral part of our history.
