On Tuesday, Sept. 29, the New England Fishery Management Council welcomed Daniel Salerno and Alan Tracy as new members.

Salerno resides in Maine and will represent New Hampshire on the council. He manages two groundfish sectors – Northeast Fishing Sector XI, known as the New Hampshire Sector; and Northeast Fishing Sector V, referred to as the Rhode Island/Long Island dayboat sector.

Tracy represents and resides in Maine. He is the owner and CEO of Vessel Services Inc., located on the Portland Fish Pier. Vessel Services supplies fuel, ice, and gear to the fishing industry and is instrumental as a shoreside support business on the working waterfront of Maine’s largest fishing port.

John Quinn and Eric Reid were re-elected as chair and vice chair. Elizabeth “Libby” Etrie of Massachusetts, Terry Alexander of Maine, and Melanie Griffin of Massachusetts were elected as the supporting members to round out the council's Executive Committee.
