The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will temporarily register new commercial fishing licenses and renew old ones at field offices around South Louisiana, officials announced Tuesday.

That means commercial fishermen won't need to drive to Baton Rouge, as they normally do.

During the selected periods, LDWF staff will also offer information on trip tickets, the mandatory process of reporting commercial seafood catches.
