Newbuilding 474, “FINNUR FRIDI”, has been handed over to its owners, Krossbrekka p/f, part of the Vardin group, Gøtu, Faroe Islands, on 22 August 2024 by Karstensens Shipyard.

The hull for “FINNUR FRIDI” was built by Karstensens Shipyard Poland in Gdynia and arrived in Skagen in September 2023.

The new “FINNUR FRIDI” replaces skipper Andri Hansen’s previous command of the same name. In addition to the new vessel, the owners also operate three other pelagic fishing vessels. The vessel’s design, specification, and arrangements result from extensive and close cooperation between the owners and the yard, ensuring that all solutions are optimised and tailor-made to suit the specific requirements of the owners, skipper Andri Hansen, his brother and chief engineer Hardi Hansen, and their crews. Retired, legendary skipper and father of the two brothers, Arni Hansen, has also played a pivotal role in the construction of the new vessel.
