Crab, groundfish and salmon issues are all up for discussion at the October meeting of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council from Oct. 5 to Oct. 10 at the Hilton Hotel in Anchorage.
The federal fisheries board will hear the Stock Assessment and Fishery Evaluation (SAFE) report for Bering Sea and Aleutian Island crab, and adopt the acceptable biological catch and overfishing limits for Bering Sea red king crab, tanner crab, snow crab, and Pribilof Island blue king crab.
