Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers announced that Tyson Fick will be joining the organization as Executive Director starting Dec. 1.

"This is an exciting opportunity to work in an iconic fishery with some really smart and talented people," said Fick, who has spent the last 6 years as Communications Director of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. "Consumer demand has never been stronger; Alaska crab is well-known to be the best in the world.  I'm looking forward to taking on new challenges and advancing the goals and priorities of ABSC."

Previous to ASMI, Fick was the legislative liaison at the Department of Commerce Community and Economic Development and a legislative staffer. Fick graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in business administration and marketing.

Fick will establish an office in Juneau which will be in addition to the main ABSC office in Seattle.

“Tyson brings tremendous skills in seafood marketing and policy advocacy to the organization. We are looking forward to having him aboard,” said ABSC President Kale Garcia .
