The local fall chinook salmon fishing season in Washington is set.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will open fall chinook fishing on the Lower Snake River August 18th.  The opener is from about three miles downriver from Clarkston to the Oregon border.  Up to three adult chinook can be kept every day.  Both wild and hatchery fish can be kept.  There’s no limit on jacks for both wild and hatchery fish.

The forecast for this fall’s chinook run up the Columbia River is at over a quarter million fish.
