With Independence Day on Thursday, we wanted to share our most patriotic Crew Shots and a few fun facts about the U.S. fishing industry:

  • New Bedford, Massachusetts ranked the top fishing port in the U.S. for value, with 88.4 million pounds of seafood delivered, totaling $443.2 million.
  • Commercial fishing in North America began in the early 16th century, and by the American Revolution, fisheries were a driving force of economic growth in the Northeast region.
  • Seattle is sometimes called Alaska's “southern office.” Thanks to the vitality of the North Pacific Fishing Fleet, the economies of Washington and Alaska are interdependent.
