Craig

The port of Craig is located on the southwestern shores of Price of Wales Island in Alaska, some six nautical miles (9 km, or 5.5 miles direct) southwest of the port of Klawock. The port of Craig is roughly halfway between the port of Sitka (161 nm), and the Prince Rupert port (156 nm) in Canada. In 2000, almost 1,400 people called the port of Craig home.

The port of Craig's economy is largely based on fishing and related support businesses. The timber industry also contributes to the local economy through the sawmill.

The City of Craig is currently working to construct a new harbor at the Cannery Site in Craig.  The new harbor will have a 10.1 acre basin, 1,900 linear feet of rubble mound breakwater, and 125-145 moorage slips.
