A whale on the brink of extinction was recently spotted swimming near the Texas coast this week. Capt. Brandon Overton, owner of Cbandit Charters in Texas City, was fishing for billfish with Nate Ressling, owner of Southbound Fishing Team, when they sighted an extremely rare Gulf of Mexico Rice's whale about 100 miles south of Galveston at 12 p.m. on Monday.
