Six crew members were safely rescued this morning after the fishing vessel Odyssey FR70 sank in the North Sea, approximately 165 nautical miles east of Edinburgh.

The alarm was raised at about 5:30 am on 29 October, when an Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) registered to the Odyssey activated, alerting authorities to the vessel’s distress.
