The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute is still seeking public review and comment on the Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management Conformance Criteria (Version 1.2, September 2011). The public review and comment period, which opened on Dec. 3, 2014, runs through Monday, Feb. 3.
ASMI is calling upon all parties interested in responsibly managed fisheries to review and offer their expertise and comments on the Alaska RFM Conformance Criteria. Stakeholder input is important, ASMI says, because it ensures that the certification program remains consistent with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s key reference documents.
All comments will be presented to the conformance criteria committee, which will be formally reviewing the RFM conformance standard. The committee will consider all relevant comments before releasing the next version of the Alaska RFM Conformance Criteria.
