An area in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Texas has been a recent hotspot for illegal fishing activities. On Oct. 21, the U.S. Coast Guard Heartland, which is headquartered in New Orleans and covers 26 states, intercepted a lancha—a foreign fishing vessel—illegally operating in U.S. waters.
