MARSHFIELD – Construction of a walkway and park along Green Harbor is scheduled to be completed before June, but local fishermen are hoping they can add one more feature: a memorial to Marshfield fishermen who have died.
Harbormaster Michael DiMeo said Tuesday that he wants to help the fishermen incorporate a marker or memorial into the half-mile-long harbor walk.
“Fishing is a huge part of Marshfield’s heritage, and it’s a great idea,” said DiMeo, who met Monday with about 15 fishermen to discuss the idea.
He wants to be certain that any addition will “flow with the current design.”
